形態特徵

Trees or shrubs, 1–4 m tall; branches and branchlets short pubescent.
Leaves coriaceous, elliptic, oblong or narrowly oblong, 10–18 cm long, 2.5–6 cm broad; base cuneate, apex acuminate; upper surface glabrous, lower surface appressed short pubescent; secondary veins 6–8 pairs, veinlets parallel or subparallel; stipules triangular-lanceolate, 3 mm at base, 3–5 mm long, pubescent, caducous; petiole 7–12 mm long, upper surface slightly grooved, appressed short pubescent.
Flowers sessile, ebracteate, clustered in axillary heads. Calyx campanulate, ca. 3 mm long, pubescent outside, lobes 5, ca. 1 mm long. Corolla salverform, ca. 10 mm long, white, upper 12 of tube pubescent inside, pubescent outside, lobes 5. Stamens 5, filaments ca. 1 mm long, anthers oblong, ca. 2 mm long. Style filiform, ca. 7 mm long, stigma 5-branched, white.
Drupe ellipsoid, ca. 10 mm in diam., pubescent, blackish purple. Seeds 5.

分布

台灣 : common in broad-leaved forests at low elevations.
世界 : The Ryukyu, southern China, and the Philippines.
